Someone PLEASE keep me off Craigslist!! I'm addicted to $50 guitars!! Here's my latest, it's an S101 Telecaster knockoff. Paid a guy in Republic $50 for it. Got it home and the intonation is PERFECT, electronics are clean, it sounds killer distorted and has an appropriate 'twang' when run clean. 1 spot of buckle rash on the back and that's it. I'm debating whether or not to do a "homebrew roadworn" look finish on it or not... I dig the way the new Fender Roadworn series look but the finish on this one is so stinkin' clean I don't know if I can justify hitting it with a sander! I love it!! Sorry, crappy cell phone pics wash out the color which is "Ferrari Red" Here's the specs I found online: Specifications: Body Style Traditional S/S Electric Body Hardwood Body Binding None Neck Maple Fretboard Rosewood Fretboard Binding None Fretboard Inlay Dot Other Inlays None Number of Frets 21 Bridge Traditional Stop Tail Pickguard White / Black / White Tuners Chrome Covered Scale 25.5" Electronics S/S Pickups, 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3-way Switch Finish Gloss Available Colors (AW) Antique White, (BK) Black, (FR) Ferrari Red, (PQW) Purple Burst, (PB) PB Blue, (SB) Three Color Sunburst, (THG) Transparet Hunter Green, (VS) Vintage Sunburst

Hi Dave. Admittance is the first step to recovery. ;D I saw this guitar last night in person after he brought it home. It's pretty sharp and sounds good too. ;D

Yeah, I'm not really conviced about the new ones, a mate of mine in OZ has a genuine 60's strat that looks awesome. Then again, it's real vintage with real wear not some fake finish work. I'll probably just keep my eyes out for a beat to hell old axe at a yard sale or something that is the real deal and keep my el cheapo as is. (that is until I drop it down the stairs, throw it off the stage, spill a couple of jugs of beer over it etc.)

I saw that on CL Dave. Congrats! There is no recovery from this addiction. Total and complete resignation from the hobby is the only way. Pack all your guitars and bring them to me, I can help!

Pack all your guitars and bring them to me, I can help! Packing them would involve putting them in cases which means I wouldn't be playing them. Not to mention that I currently have 3 more guitars than I have cases... My 6 string acoustic, Emperador electric and now the Tele don't have cases yet. I've got a gig bag but I HATE them with a passion that is undefinable in the English language
