I think what it does is create vocal harmonies instead of guitar. You can find some videos of it in action on youtube...

The Digitech is a Vocal Harmony Synthesizer. There are numerous pre-programmed harmony options that you can select -- four place harmony, single harmony, 3rd up or 3rd down, etc. The Digitech picks up the key from the guitar that is being played through it in to accompany the vocals. I do not understand how it can provide the professional sounding harmonies that it sings along with the singer but it does it extremely well. It does not play harmony with the guitar, just the vocals. If you do an internet search on Digitech Vocalist you can find the technical information. There are also several YouTube videos demonstrating the machine, how to program it in addition to the resets, etc. Amazing technology in my opinion.

Yup,I have that option,or one close to that on this RP50.It is a cool effect when you wanna really spice up that leadbreak. I have used the one for vocals too,and it is a nice piece if gear as well.Does the same thing for vocals as guitar, really cool
