After much debate and trying at least one of every pedal over the last couple of years I went and bought a Line 6 Floor Pod Plus today at GC. This sounds excellent, much better than all the pedals I have, and nearly silent operation too. Anyway if you're looking to get a new toy this one needs consideration for real.It was 213 and change out hte door, and so far I can't find anything I don't like about it. Time will tell though. Here's the link

I don't know MWS,I played it and this one and I liked this one much better. But I've had the Line 6 spider for a few years too,I might be a little bias. You can go into any preset, and turn the delay, chorus, delay and reverb on and off individually, and it has a solo button for more volume during a leadbreak. Those are the things that sold me on this unit. Here's a link to the Line 6 page line6.com/floorpodplus/sounds.html

Well maybe it would be worth a look then..I wasnt sure if you could turn off the different effects in the presets, which is what I liked about the Digitech..plus it would save me a big bill...lol

I think Line 6 has the market on the modeling. I have used there products live and in studio for the last 5 years with complements on "my sound" all along the way. It took lots of tweaking, but it has always out performed amps live (large and small venues).
NI Guitar rig sounds better, but is computer based so I didn't want to try to use that live (although I have seen it done with great success) and the Boss Gt series always sounded great, but I had to switch as the Line 6 has always just sounded better.
Digitech had the market in the early years but their models never seem to be that convincing. Burried in a mix would probably be just fine though.

I have used a spider as a preamp for years, and it always sounds spectacular. I thought about a pod,but this has all the bells and whistles, though a few sacrifices along the way between the XT live, and the Spider 3 100 watt head, each has it own "thing" that makes it great. The pod plus rides the fence and had the best of both worlds for me.
I have a RP50 that works well,it doesn't have the sound that the Line 6 has,and I had a Boss ME-33 which i hated, and a boss stompbox that I really didn't care for either.I'm not big on Boss stuff. The best thing about the line 6 is from sparkling clean to screaming distortion,it'll do it all and when you let off the strings it's dead silent.
