the title is a bit misleading I think.
so lately My band has been really working our buts off to completely polish our main set. this means playing the same 10 or so songs every practice, over and over. one of the main reasons why is we are going to record our demo next week, so we want everything spot on.
however, practicing the same songs that you have atleast 95% polished, over and over, can get a little repetitive and at practice the energy level for these songs kind of demenishes over time.
yesterday at practice we played some songs that we haven't played in months and it was really fun (even though, no where near polished). it was very refreshing.
so I guess we are going to start alternating songs like that so we don't get bored playing one for so long.

Yeah it's a good idea to work on some stuff and then just jam for a while. We have been working on the same 10 songs everytime getting ready for the festival, and it is hard to keep your mind right doing the same songs over and over. I find it refreshing to jam with other players between times also, nothing serious just playing music to be playing music.
