We have had some problems and can't get as many practices in as I would like, but after 2 weeks of no practice we finally got a good one in. We all busted hump and learned the songs from CD,and when we got together tonight we sounded way good. Not as good a I'd like but not bad for only 4 practices. Sure is nice when the members of the band will learn the songs and not mess around with it.
Also I mic'd the guitar and bass and it made a huge difference in how we sounded,so much so that we automatically tightened up. I will recommend that you mic all the instruments even in practice. Made a huge difference in our practice tonight.

We might blow the roof off Robo's garage if we mic'ed everything....and he might have some angry neighbors...

well we can always hope ..lol Actually we have a few songs that have just bass during the verse and it sounds really thin trying to sing with just a bass,so it helps to mic it all down and helped the over all feel as well.
I don't think I'll pass around a neighbor appreciation survey or anything though.

I hope everything is mic'ed for the Music Festival. We sound pretty good with out everything mic'ed in my garage. We can hear each other really good.

yeah we're gonna mic all the instruments, still working on how to mic the drums where it takes little time with maximum results. I'm gonna talk it over with my tech and see what he has to say since he is a qualified person having done a few of these things before. I'm a little concerned about set up and tear down times between bands. We only have 15 minutes to get it all switched and back to playing again. It'll be Ok,we'll sound good
