Name's Ron, live in Mountain Home, AR. I play lead guitar in a cover band called Slingshot.
Great looking site and some killer musicians here, glad to have found you all. Hope to stay awhile.
So...anyone else here from the Twin Lakes area or close?

Hahahahaha!!! Thanks for the welcome guys. Who would ever guess there so many of us nutbags out here in the Ozarks. Well...except bikerbassist. Fenderpbass: Thats cool you grew up in MH, I'm sure you and I know a few of the same people. I'm kinda in between MH and Buford, have heard many great stories about growing up here in the late 70's and 80's.

Here's a quick story about Mountain Home in the late 70's. Black Oak Arkansas lived in a compound in Oakland, near the Arkansas/Missouri state line. Their manager, Butch Stone, lived in Mountain Home. I went to school with Butch's kids. Anyway, one day after school some friends and I went to the Dutchman Drive In, a little hamburger joint that used to be there. We go inside, and there sits Jim Dandy (lead singer/front man of Black Oak Arkansas). He sitting in a booth with some blonde chick brushing his hair. So I go up to him and say...JIM DANDY!!! You guys are great, I love your band!!! Jim says..."Dont bother me now kid, cant you see I'm working on trying to get laid"? :-)

But Im gonna see if I can get a couple guys to join up here. Most of the stories Ive heard revolve around booze, women, and 1 sheriff in the area. ;D Some Black Oak Arkansas stuff too. Everyone in this area has some story involving Black Oak Arkansas...wish i couldve been around then. @junkman: Sparta's not too far, isnt that up by Ozark? Let's jam!!!
